Need advice on footings

I've built a few decks in the past, nothing high up so I never had to try to conserve space underneath for a walk out basement. Recently moved into a new home and its missing a deck Currently there is nothing on the back of the house, just access from a walkout basement and the story above it has a blocked off access to what should be a deck.
I'm torn because I want to maximize my space below to eventually use the walk out basement as a lower patio but I don't want the above deck to be weak. I'm really unsure on what span I can get away with as far as spacing between 6x6 posts.
The deck I had in mind:
Free standing (not attached to the home) Never liked the idea but if I need to for some engineering reason unknown by me I'm willing to.
16'L x 32'W 10'H
I'm trying to avoid a ton of 6x6 on the lower deck/patio in the future. Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

You need an architect to draw some plans. Don't try to design it yourself. A deck that size would need plenty of posts & footings to go with them.
