Question Closing in deck

We have a ground floor deck that we would like to screen in and add a door to. The roof will be the second floor deck above. We know this won't be entirely water proof.

My question is about adding a door. We'd like to add an inexpensive metal screen door, along with screening in the rest of the deck. We'd need to build some kind of door frame. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about doing this? Do we build the frame that the door mounts to out of wood, or do we buy some kind of prebuilt frame?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Sounds like you want some type of storm door. If so, it just needs to go on an opening where the distance between the exterior trim measures 32x81 or 36x81... and should probably be mounted onto that trim, which is called brickmould. The opening for the door could be your 2x4 rough opening or what have you. Most people would want a "finished opening" meaning the 2x4's would be trimmed with a jamb (just a term for nicer wood)... which would mean the rough opening would need to be larger so that your finished opening would end up being the right size for your door. But since this room sounds like it will in no way be water proof, I really don't know how far you will go at "finishing" the interior of the room or if it will just be kind of "rustic".
