Insulation above front door porch

my front door porch ceiling has flat ceiling and a recessed light. i want to replace the ceiling with cedar tongue and groove and the light with a flush mount light.

i tore down the ceiling to see 0.5 inch foam board insulation and fiberglass insulation behind that, with the paper facing out and facing in, see picture.

looks like there is some mold on this insulation

what type of insulation should be above this ceiling? there is an interior room above this porch

Welcome to the forums.

Small area but an interior space above it so I'd be looking at max insulation regardless of cost. Spray foam is my first thought.

Just a guess, without seeing the discoloration up close, but it could be just dirt filtered out from air leakage. Fiberglass insulation often looks like that. A recessed light and holes drilled for wiring can provide lots of air leakage.
