2nd coat of deck toner?

I built a patio table out of Cedar and applied SW Deckscapes Oil Toner to the individual pieces before assembly to ensure all sides were well coated. Now that it is assembled there are some very small ridges where the pieces join together. It's only been 24-36 hours since I applied the Toner.

If I lightly sand (220grit) the surface will a 2nd coat of toner absorb at this point or would I have to sand all of the way through it? Trying to get a furniture quality finish.

Thanks

Signed,

Welcome to the forums!

If you expect to get a furniture quality finish on your deck you in for disappointment.

If this is their oil base toner, a light sanding should suffice, if it's the waterborne formula [modified oil] you'll have to sand better because those stains have a specific recoat window after which the stain must either be well weathered or removed before you can recoat.
