Waterproof storage under a deck

We live on a house built on stilts, by a river. Lots of deck space, all around the house. Standard decking. Maybe a quarter of inch between boards.

I'd like to find a cheap/easy way of making it water proof under the deck. I'd like to convert what was a drainage area into work/stowage, all around. It would have to be something just below the bottom of the deck.

Sure would appreciate whatever you think might work.......

Google "under deck". It will show you the different types of water proofing for under deck installations. Some easy, some not so easy.

One possible draw back is the lack of air flow under the deck once that roof goes in.
Lack of air flow can cause molding issues and premature failure of the deck.

Also consider how debris will get out from the space between your deck and roof system. I've seen a couple that were a mess after a few years with leaves and other debris damming up and holding water and insects.

Dane is correct. If the slope is not sufficient, water and "stuff" won't be washed out. Just ask one of my clients who had bear poop in theirs. I had to change the slope from 2" in 12' to considerably more. I would not rehang the panels unless the owner cleaned them with a pressure washer.

400# plus her cubs. They crap on the deck and it washes down the cracks to the under deck and just sits there.
