Screened Porch Problems - Need Advice

I have a 15x15 foot screened porch that needs something because we don't use it. The main reason for not using it is because it is always full of spiders, spider webs, and other bugs..

I find it funny that a screened porch is full of bugs. Even though it's screened, the floor are those 6 inch planks with half inch space between. Everything comes up through the floor and makes a home.

I have heard some people attaching screen under the floor to keep bugs out, but that doesn't seem like a good solution.

I am hoping for some other suggestions to make this porch a place where we want to use more.

How else would you do it? If it rains through the screen, water still has to get out or you will have a pond in there. Put screen under the floor.

I second that. Best solution for your situation, IMO. Make sure you get good coverage with your screen and fasten it well.

I will be doing this exact thing for a customer who has the same situation- (sunroom/screenroom with bugs) in a few weeks, and after I staple it up, I will be nailing a 1x2 stop around the perimeter to hold the edges tight.

What about installing a material that uses tongue and groove so there is no gap?

If you close it off with T&G - where will the rain water go? If you trap water you'll have bigger problems
