Nailing pattern for baluster for deck on existing room roof

We have a deck on the roof of a single level room at the rear of our house. The decking is a series of floating panels that can be removed to repair the roof, if needed. The balusters are attached to header boards (two 2 x 8) around the perimeter of the room (3 sides). I need to replace them and want to know what nailing pattern I should use. The boards are 5/4 x 6. The current pattern, using nails, is 3 nails across the bottom of each baluster and one 3 inches up in the center (triangle pattern). I plan on using 3", polymer coated nails, but not sure if this is the best pattern. Any help provided would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums! Why not use 2x2x36 or 42" pre cut balusters with two nails top and two bottom. I would use 2 3/8" ring shank Hot dipped galvanized nails.
