Outdoor kitchen materials

I will be building an outdoor kitchen early spring and I have questions around weather/winter(Maine) resistant materials. As of right now, I'm set on using concrete for counter top. It seems easy enough to mix, pour, sand/polish and it's cheap.

Now, I will be using durock backerboard all around and I was planning on using stucco over it to finish but I keep reading that stucco isn't the greatest when it comes to winter/snow/rain etc. If that's the case, should I just use stone veneer?

Thank you

Alex
