Gap in sill below threshold.

So my exterior kitchen door has leaked air since we bought the place. I pulled off the threshold to replace it and found a huge gap between the cement sill and flooring. This is where I should screw down a new threshold.
Any thoughts on how to proceed? Cannot explain it well, but cannot attach photo.

Joe - Welcome to the forums! - Your picture links do not work, here is how to direct include pictures Pictures will need to be scaled down to web quality for them to upload.

Keep in mind as a new member, your pictures will have to be approved first - It is a spam filter thing and will disappear after a dozen or so posts by you. It should only mean a brief delay in posting.
