porch with metal roof
I am in the planning stages for a porch on front of my single wide manufactured home.
I am looking at something approx. 8 X 12. this will have a metal roof with a slope.
My question is this, the area I am putting it has a solid concrete slab. I am thinking of setting the posts directly on the slab. Any thoughts??
Thanks

Getting a permit for this?
If so most likely there going to call for footings under the post.
Post need to be sitting on post bases or there going to rot out.
The biggest issue your going to have to deal with is tying in the metal roof to the home.
Most I've seen leak at that point.
There's just not a lot to attach anything to in a mobile home and most do not even have an over hang on the roof.

No permit required in my area so OK there. Will go with the post bases. Plan on using flashing to bridge the gap from porch roof to mobile home roof.
Thanks for response!!

Watch the porch roof pitch and you flashing where it meets the house/trailer. That junction is a common source of leaks and can be especially bad if you get snow. A shallow pitched porch roof can dam up water coming off the roof and cause it to work it's way the tiniest crack or nail hole.
