20x16 decking

Hey guys this is my first time doing a deck. I decided to do a 20ftx16ft ground level deck that is not attached tomy house, more like a floating deck. I used a 4x4 beams and 2x4 joists. I have completed those on my footing and would like to do decking. Ive seen photos where there is a transition board running perpendicular and others running horizontal from the house. Im looking for the no seams down the middle look and the easiest way to do decking. Any ideas that can help me?

The traditional way is to start each run of deck board with a different random length of deck board. If on 16 inch center say one 32" the next at 80" then maybe one at 48".

Well, 4x4 beams and 2x4 joists are not up to code for decking. Also, a ground level deck is more apt to rot as air can not circulate underneath it, moisture can't escape and it has a higher incidence of early failure. Most jurisdictions require a permit for deck building and inspections along the way to ensure codes are being met. Here are the guidelines for building a deck.

Ignoring the part about 2x4s and 4x4s... (that isn't going to stay straight for very long!)... deck planks are available in 16' and 20' lengths, so if you buy the right stuff, you don't need to have any seams.

I'm sorry but the list of things wrong here is long. Please be prepared for this deck not to last a long time.
