Porch Gutter

Anyone have any ideas on a gutter I can install on the front portion of my side porch to prevent water from running on the steps and freezing solid in the winter?

Are there any prefabbed small aluminum type gutters available somewhere that would install easily under the slats at the end of the porch?

Is there any structure there that would support the gutter?
If I'm not mistaken the big box stores sell gutters in 10' lengths along with everything else you'd need. both in aluminum and vinyl.

I see where you may have an issue with standard gutter due to the non-flat surface of the "slats". Is the roof like that also or is it flat? If flat, you might be able to just put some cut and bent drip-edge on it to deflect the water to the side of the steps.

I think you would have to screw the gutter to the back side of that front valance.... And maybe use some wrap around k-style gutter hangers to help support it. If hard rain coming off the top misses the gutter you could screw a piece of gutter apron on top of the sunporch roof as a deflector.

You might need to cut a slot in the corners (on the back side of each corner) so that the gutter can slip up behind the front valance an inch or two.
