Deck Stair Landing Issue

Evening all,

I am building a deck on a house I recently bought. I ran into a problem today that I cant figure out and am all ears to any advice.

I cut the stair stringers and we started to put them in place and ran into an issue. As you can see in the image below the concrete landing is severely out of level.

I cut the stringers to work based on the elevation of the left side of the concrete and I am at my maximum riser height. I was planning on using a 2x4 kicker. If I level the kicker then my riser height on the right side of the stairs is about 10 inches. If I put the kicker on the slab then the stairs are obviously out of level. Not really sure how to address this situation. All advice appreciated.

Thanks

Since it's not that big of a slab, I'd break it up and pour a new one that is level. Looks like it could be a little higher [than surrounding grass] so maybe you could pour over it.

@YesHaveSome, I'm just curious, do you need a permit for a deck in your area? I'm wondering because I am considering building a small deck (actually, a front entrance landing, but my town considers it a deck). I looked over the town code requirements and they would not have allowed a beam construction like yours. In my town, the beam needs to bear directly down on the post.

It does require a permit and that connection we used is to code for our area. I am in KCMO.
