Slop or a Sagging Post
Hi-
New to the forum. Could you guys take a look at this for me? What is going on with this corner? It looks to me like the footing has sunk over the years (next to a drainage pipe). The person who built it said it was sloped when built for water runoff. From the center of the deck to that left corner is about a 3/4" drop.
Thoughts? Replace the post?

Have you ruled out the possibility that the one to the right is actually being heaved "up" by frost instead of the one to the left sinking ?
What State are you in and how deep are our footings ?

Since the top of the railing and deck to the right seem parallel to the house's windows and siding I assume none of that has moved. The corner does appear to have sunk as it is not parallel to anything on the house so I vote that the pier/footing has sunk or they just screwed-up when building the deck.

Looks like that drainage pipe has already washed some of the soil away from around that post.
Are the posts in the footers, or just setting on top of them?

You will need to support the deck while you make the repair. Remove that corner post. Posts on top of the footers usually have stand offs o the wood does not touch the concrete. You may get lucky and with the addition of a stand off, be able to level the deck. Take measurements and determine how off the section is and see if a standard stand off will help in your situation.
