Anti slip additives good enough to use?

Hey guys, there are industrial anti slip paints like this one for outdoor stairs:

Dura Grip Gray

but since I normally use Rustoleum paint I am wondering is simply adding this additive to the paint will be equally as good please?

Either will work BUT they are prone to wear away in the traffic areas. IMO it's better to use those anti slip strips and just replace them as they wear out.
