I'm expanding on an existing deck. What is the max. of over hang you can have from
the end of your beam ?

Oops, more info would help. The current deck frame is 5' x 6' - of 2 x 6 with 16" centres. The beam is 4' out - of 4 x 6- which is supported by 2 -4 x 4 which sit on cement forms.

I would like to change the deck frame to 8' x 8' without having to pour more sona tubes.

It's not that simple. Start by telling us how your existing deck is built. How big is it? Does it have something like 4X6 girders on 4' centers, supporting 2X6 joists on 2' centers? How much do you want to add to it, and in what direction? (More out from the house? More along the wall of the house?)

The maximam cantilever you can have is 24" providing your deck joists are a minimum of 2x6's on 16" centers. I think this is what you were looking for. Lefty however is right, answer the questions he asked for. I may be way off base.
