Help repairing sliding screen door wheel

Hi folks,

Any tips would be great. I have a sliding screen door (for the deck) that kept falling off the tracks. Then I realized one of the bottom wheels is not where it should be. It has fallen into the frame of the screen door. It's either broken, or just unattached. I can't tell if the bottom piece of metal (see attached picture) actually comes apart so you can get to that location and either repair or replace the wheel. I've replaced the screening in the door before, but never the wheel.

Look to the right of the wheel on the side of the frame..... there may be an adjusting screw there to set its height. The picture is just for reference.

 

Generally you don't repair you replace since its usually broken or seized.

 

I posted a generic picture of a roller. Your's may have a similar replaceable assembly.

 

Lowes or HD usually have a selection of door parts. You can match what you have.

 

And you don't take the frame apart, the roller likely just pops right out with a pry bar, and the new one presses in. Does it have a slotted adjustment screw on the opposite side of the frame? Or do these have no adjustment screw?

Thanks everyone for the tips. I was able to get the old wheel out and it looks like the one attached in the picture below. Looks like that Swisco site sells it too, but I’ll check the HD first since they’re down the street.

Unfortunately I think when the wheel broke, the screen door fell and two metal pieces of the door became disconnected. See red circle in second picture. Maybe I can put a piece of metal bracing on it.

 

That shouldn't be a problem. Check top of screen to see if it is pushed up there.
