Question Repainting/repairing deck

i have a 20+ yr old deck, plywood tonge in groove with seams taped and painted. textured glossy paint. one seam intersection was replaced due to some rot.

? is regarding other taped seams that are showing, after sanding, with a crack in them, some nail heads and a rusty screw. it's been suggested that i clean it all real good (have sanded it already) with TSP and then caulk it all up and paint it. or i can cut out a larger section and put in new plywood replacing the exposed taped seams but also creating more seams. (Plywood is caulked as it's put into place.).

suggestions?

thanks.

Please, post a picture, I have never seen an exterior solid plywood deck, would like to see what exactly you have!

You are only allotted 10mb of picture storage. You were well over 15mb with just these few pictures. You MUST resize your pictures to somewhere near 600x600 dpi and file size 10kb.

While TSP is a great cleaner it needs to be rinsed well or there can be adhesion issues with the paint.
What type of tape was used? I'd be inclined to just caulk the seams.
