Advice on winterizing screened porch.

In the next month I plan on winterizing my porch using 20 gauge vinyl plastic using 3/8" or 1/2" grommets. The issue I forsee is finding screw heads large enough to fasten with those size grommets. My initial thought was to use some type of washer, but after a quick look in the depot I'm not seeing anything useful. I could go down to a 1/4" grommets but I'm concerned about durability in that size with winter winds and holding up.

I'll probably be using a 3/4- 1" stainless screw and would like some advice before I proceed further.

Thanks

What type washer are you looking for? I'm guessing a fender washer will do what you want. Also, "the depot" isn't the only source of hardware. There are many other suppliers with much better selection.

Look for stainless truss head screws. I don't see the plastic holding up around the grommet, even tarp grommets don't last long.
