Our new townhouse has a great rooftop deck space running the entire length and width of our house. Unfortunately, the builder has put down a PVC membrance, called "Duradeck" which is ugly and can never come clean. I would like to put a wood deck on top, but cannot puncture the membrane. Our roof is separated from our neighbours on each side with a wood / lattice fence. Any ideas re: constuction, cushioning, drainage etc?
Thanks and Regards...

I always build roof decks free standing (not attached) on top of 2x10s laid flat. The 2x10s are layed on top of a strip of rubber modified roofing material to cushion them on the roofing.
