Attaching picture framed deck boards
Hello everyone. I'm building a deck that consists of 1x6 ipe and 2x6 PT framing. I plan to overhang the pictured-framed deck boards 5/8" (or more) over the edge of the rim joist + fascia board. The fascia board will also be 1x6 ipe deck boards. My concern is that with the overhang (5/8") and fascia (3/4") I'll have 1 3/8" of overhang. Centering the deck screw in the middle of the rim joist adds another 3/4" giving a total of 2 1/8" from the edge of the deck board.
Is the screw location too far from the edge of the deck board?
What if I were to increase the fascia board to 5/4x6 and secure the deck board to the fascia instead?
I plan on using the Camo edge screws and face screw the parameter boards. Thanks!

What i have done when I want no fasteners showing is I drill pocket holes in the rim joist. I use the camo concealed fasteners on the inside perimeter of the picture frame, and shove the perimeter board (which has a groove routered into it) onto the camo clip, then hold it down with one hand and put the pocket screws in from underneath with the other. They all get covered up once the fascia is on.
But yes, if you used a 5/4 fascia and don't mind seeing the fasteners, you could predrill and screw them to the fascia.

Thanks XSleeper for the feedback. I was also thinking about using pocket screws, but I had some concerns about having less than 3/4" of ipe for the screws to grab on to. With ipe being so hard, I would also have to predrill the deck boards without poking though... yikes.
I was thinking of facing screwing the parameter boards with either small trim head nails or counter sinking and plugging. So maybe screwing into the facia is the way to go.
My concerned with securing the deck board so far from the edge is the potential for cupping. Again thanks for the feedback.
