Painting roofing felt- terrace

Hello, Iím hoping someone can assist. I have a tiny studio apt with a giant amazing private terrace. The ground material out there is basically roofing felt. I need to upgrade the place on the cheap side, the value of this place has really dropped. I was thinking painting the surface could give it a nice facelift. Any recommendations for the type of paint that would be best for this material? Durable for foot traffic and weather.

Welcome to the forums.

Not the pro in this forum.....just checking thru.
That's not roofing felt..... that looks like rubber roll roofing.
Typically you don't walk on a roof of that type.
You certainly wouldn't put anything on it that could puncture the rubber.

The pros will be by.

Probably EPDM material, very durable but nothing that you would do anything to other than possibly scrubbing down.

You may be right about that not being typical, I agree. However it’s pretty common in my building. Neighbors laid down a deck- they used proper lifts, separators ( I don’t know the term). I can’t afford that, I just want to make it look a little better.

Big difference between building a deck and trying to "make it look better"

Its a roof, what are people supposed to expect!
