Securing Gazebo to Paver Patio Overlaid on Concrete Slab

Hi,
I have a paver patio that I would like to add a gazebo to. The pavers were overlaid on an existing concrete slab with the edge pieces either being mortared or adhered with construction adhesive and the and the rest set on leveling sand over the concrete slab. It is a yardistry gazebo with posts that are designed to be bolted down to a concrete slab or footings. My question is would it be adequate to drill through the pavers and into the concrete slab and install wedge anchors to anchor the gazebo posts to the concrete slab under the pavers?

It's never adequate to attach to pavers. You will want long anchors into the concrete.

Drilling through the pavers risks breaking them, but you can try. Whether or not they break depends on how many holes in each paver and where the holes will be in each stone. Either broken or not, you won't be able to anchor into the pavers and will need to go into at least the concrete slab. That is not a good application for expanding anchors so epoxying anchor rods into the concrete slab might be the best option.

You might get lucky and be able to remove the pavers under the legs/posts and replace them with steel post anchors which you anchor to the slab, in that case expanding anchors could be an option.
