Deck off a double wide mobile home

Need some advice. We're wanting to build a 16'X24' wide deck off the back of our new double wide mobile home. We've been told that we can't attach the deck TO the house due to the need for extra supports under the walls where the deck would be.

SO, what I'm thinking of is building a free standing deck using 4"x4" posts set on concrete footers, spaced 6' apart in a grid pattern. First line of 4 posts would be 2' from the home and the last line of posts would be about 2' from the outside edge of the deck.

Planning on using double 2"X10" for beams and 2"X8" 16"O.C. for joists, 2"X6" for the deck surface.

Since this would be a free standing deck, and parts of it would be >36" off the ground, I'd use cross bracing between the posts.

Does this sound like a decent plan? Anyone have any constructive suggestions?

TIA.

36" isnt a high deck.. dont need to cross brace your posts.. of course its a matter of choice.. but you will need a railing if its over 30 inches high..

oh also you can span 24 inches with 2x6 decking if youd want to..

Hope this helps---Josh
