High Ceilings

I recently bought a new house that has 16 ft ceilings throughout the house. Can anyone give me any decorating tips on hanging pictures, etc. I have a lot of pictures hanging on the walls but they still look bear..... Thanks!

Hanging pictures

The rule of thumb for hanging pictures is to hang them so that the middle of the picture is where you will be viewing the picture. Thus, if the picture will be viewed from standng or sitting, you should take that into consideration for hanging. Pictures in halls and foyers will be at standing eye level for an average height person. Pictures in a sitting area will be at a height from which viewing will be at a seated height. If you are 6 foot plus tall, take that into consideration and lower the height for the average person. Pictures should not look like they are floating above your furniture.
