need some color

My wife and I recently did a face lift on our house. We painted all the woodwork white ( it was previously a dark stain). We have a split entry house, and as you come into the front door into the small entry way, the banister is now the dark stain along with the 8' spindles that reach from the ceiling to the floor in the living room. The entry door is also the dark stain. The tile in the foyer is white. What should we do with the banister and spindles? Should we paint them white and also paint the door white? If so, there would be no color except for the green carpeting on the stairway. Hope there's someone in the decorating forum who can help us with this problem.

Thanks,
Stan

Adding color

Neutral backgrounds tend to showcase furnishings and accessories. Color can be added with fabrics, rugs, paintings, plants, and accessories. Perhaps, you may decide to add some color to the entry by painting or papering.
