Help with paint colour
We have a small spare room (I'm guessing 9' x 9') that I would like to paint. The room contains a futon with a green/black/brown/off-white plaid cover and black metal frame, a piano which has a cherry wood finish, a small wooden computer stand and a medium-dark wood dresser. I'm thinking of an earth tone. Any suggestions?

find the most dominating color on your furniture and use a subtle complementary color for some walls. you dont have to paint all the walls in one room one color. let some white show through, in other words leave a few walls in one room white. it helps stabilize the room, shows off the color, and makes the room seem bigger.
you can also use the color wheel and find a color next in line on the wheel. it doesnt have to be complimentary. avoid primary colors! ex: instead of red, use terra cotta, etc.
