Question Advice on an Unusual Flooring Attempt

Hello,

I am in the midst of re-decorating my bedroom, and I currently have gross old carpet in there. I have decided to rip the carpet out, and to put down sea grass mats instead. I have mats that are 6' x 3' and my room is 9' x 9', so I will need to use multiple mats to cover the whole surface. I had planned on using staples around the edges of the mats to keep them secure because they are quite slippery. I'm not entirely sure how this is going to work out, so if anyone has any advice on this for me, i'd be glad to hear it!

Thanks

i can't imagine how that could work out. if you staple sparingly, i think you'll be tripping on the edges (seams). but if you use too many staples, i'd think you'd see them, which would be ugly. maybe you could glue them down? pity the person who has to eventually remove them though.

what about carpet squares or adhesive-backed tiles? parquet tiles maybe?
