I have so many paint chips, yet so few ideas. ;) When it comes to the walls - I'm thinking about a deep gold living room, deep red dining room, and deep sage foyer. The main furniture accent is a 7 foot ebony polish grand piano in the living room. I can see all rooms from my front door in the foyer. The foyer is about 20 x 8 with an 18 feet ceiling. The mostly open staircase leading to the balcony on the second floor is to the left. The foyer opens up to the living room through a wide arch to the right. One wall in the living room (20 x 15) is mostly windows. The wall dividing the living room from the dining room is a decorative arch which doesn't provide much of a physical division, but more of a decorative one. The living room has a cathedral ceiling sloping from 18 feet from the dividing wall to 10 feet at the window wall. I can see the living room and foyer from the 12 x 12 dining room. The ceiling is 18 feet up (no slope). The back wall is mostly glass. I'm thinking of painting the ceilings one shade darker than the walls. I don't know if I should paint the decorative arch dividing the living room/dining room a different color. :confused: Any input is appreciated!

I have double front doors in my home that have large glass designs. I don't want to cover these up, but my husband hates it that we don't have more privacy in our livingroom (it's a little difficult to make out images if your looking in from the outside). I've thought about using a decorative screen and making this an entrance area (we have an open floor plan), but the celings are very high and I'm not sure if this would look ok. I love the thought of using a screen in this area but they are so expensive and I'm not sure it would work. Any Ideas??? Thanks
