Is it ok to apply waynescott in a bedroom

With the right design it'll look great. Bead board is the most popular style. What style did you have in mind?

i agree. you can create the illusion of wainscot with wallpaper, using either 2 different wallpapers separated by a wallpaper border (at the chair rail height ~ 2.5 to 3' up from the floor), or you can install an actual chair rail moulding and use a combination of paint/wallpaper above and/or below the moulding, or you can do the real thing as Jan2 suggested with either beadboard or actual raised panels (seen a lot in libraries or offices).

your choice will depend on the final look, style, and level of how formal/casual you're wanting the room.
