Where can I find reproductions of old stencils? I have a very old house (c.1780) and would like to stencil some floors and walls, but would like to find time period stencils if there is such a thing?

Try 'The Stencil Store', there's one in the Bentall Centre in Kingston, UK; I think there are other branches too. Also you can make your own. Go to stately homes etc. or look in library books for designs. You can sketch or trace the designs onto stencil card (from art shops) and then cut out with a scalpel. If you use library books you can even blow up a clear design on the photocopier. If you are in the UK the other place to go for historical decoration ideas is tne Victoria and Albert museum in Kensington.

Check out Jan Dressler stencils
and DeeSigns stencils
You could order their catalogs and see them all.
