I just bought a home and have decided to upgrade the faucets and light fixtures. I love the bronze look and definitely want to do that in my master bathroom, but it is very expensive. What I am wondering is if I do bronze in one bathroom if it would be in poor taste to do brushed nickel in the other bathrooms - I have a second bath on the top floor, a half bath on the main floor, and a bath in the basement. I am doing stainless steel faucets in the kitchen to go with the appliances and the bath on the main floor is right off the kitchen. Seems like the fixtures in that bathroom should coordinate with the kitchen... or should they match the bathroom(s) upstairs?
Am I just being overly anal thinking it has to match throughout the house?
Thanks!

Unless you use both bathrooms at the same time, there is no need for matching fixtures. Make each room / area distinctive. Matching is fine at motel 6 but your home should reflect your tastes.

I agree, no need to match in my opinion. I have antique bronze in my kitchen and I have stainless steel in my bathroom. The bronze matches my old farmhouse kitchen with a more modern look while the stainless matches my newly remodeled bathroom. I eventually want to switch everything in my bathroom to bronze as well though just because I really like the look.
