Completely Stumped on Curtain Color

Completely Stumped on Curtain Color
Greetings All,
My wife and I have just completed a remodel of our master bedroom and have decided to decorate in a Fantasy Theme. Things such as Fairies, Wizards, Dragon and stuff of that nature trying to stay away from the whole midevil look and stick as close as possible to the feel of an Enchanted Fantasy Forest.
We have painted the room in Wizard Purple on the walls, Winter Ice on the ceiling and Ultra pure White highgloss on the trim and crown mouldings. Our dilema is we can not seem to come to a decision on Carpet and Curtain colors. At this time we are more concerned with the curtain color choice than carpet.
I am thinking I'd like Forest Green Drapes with a scenery style sheer backing them, My wife thinks Forest green would be to dark as the purple on the walls is extremely deep.
I am going to attempt to attach a photo of the room so you can see the colors along with my choice for drapes and sheer combination. Hopefully allowing anyone to help us in deciding on the final color choice.

Hi TwistEdFish,
I tend to agree with your wife.
I think that the green curtains will create a competition qith the color of the walls, creating an additional focal point
What about clear blue for the curtains?

I would hang either white, silver grey, or a lighter shade of purple silk panels, puddling on the floor, on a white rod.
If you want to hang sheers, just keep them plain rather than one with a picture. If you want to hang a picture like that, either make it a wallhanging or a mural.
p.s. I don't know if the green draperies you posted a pic of is to show the style you want also, but that style is a bit outdated.

Thanks for the input,
The style of the drapes in the photo would only be outdate if going for a modern look, My wife and I are both big fans of traditional. I personally am looking more towards drapes with a scalloped and tassled valance. More of an old world victorian look, something which you might see in an old castle perhaps.
As far as a lighter shade of purple for the curtains, I think would push the limits as we already have 3 shades of purple in the room. The look we are going for of an Enchanted fantasy I beleive would work much better with the pictured sheers as a backing thinking that it would give the feeling of looking into the forest beyond. My decision to go with green curtains was made solely on trying to keep with the fantasy theme in that the green drapes would add to the feel of looking through the trees towards the forest, I'm just not sure if forest or hunter green is the way to go or to drop down to a lighter shade such as a Olive or as light as a Sage Green.
One design element I have always disliked is puddled drapes, I personaly think it makes it look as though you chose the wrong length of drapes for the window and just said What the heck leave them like that.
