Color to compliments stained trim
I am getting ready to re-do my daughters bedroom. Im going to install chair railing and want to paint it two colors; one above and one below the chair rail. Im having problems deciding on colors to coordinate with my current trim which is a honey pine stained color (swatch below). Can anyone offer any advice?

Hi jreed,
Age of the daughters? style of the furniture? curtains?
If you wish to post a picture--> In order to set an image here follow these easy steps-->
1 - upload your picture to a free online photoalbum like Photobucket or Flickr , for example
2 - Look for the link of your picture (usually, photoalbums provide a "link for a forum" script) --> copy the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located),
3 - In the DIY Forum--> Reply post or open a new post--> Press the 'Insert Image' icon above and paste the link--> or type after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image

My daugher is 2 1/2. In her room right now I have a crib, dresser, and chest of drawers. They are all similarly colored wood, very close to the trim stain I showed in my original post. The dresser and chest are older and veneer type. I would like to paint those as well, possibly white. Of course I am open to ideas. The crib will be coming out soon replaced by a full size bed which has a wood colorde headboard which I may paint as well. Its tough to find pictures with stained trim; most everyone has theirs painted white. The room is fairly small.
As for the curtains, we have a valance in the room similar to:

Ill see if I can get a pic tonight.

Hi jreed,
I'd work following peach colors--> this will give you a balance between the wood and the pure pink
Some colors from the Sherwin Williams catalogue (of course, you will find the same colors in other brands)
Bottom
SW 6057 - Melted Milk
SW 6112 - Biscuit
SW 6008 - Individual White
Top
SW 6301 - Patient White
SW 6322 - Intimate White
SW 7100 - Arcade White

I think a fresh green would be a pretty solution. It would be great with the honey color, great with just about any shade of pink or other girly color and would be easy to transition as she gets older.
Basically I think just about any color will work that doesn't come too close to the golden undertones of the honey because they might fight each other. The other thing to consider is how light of a color...the pastel versions of any color will be less likely to work well because the value will be too similar - a little contrast will work better with the light wood so either use very pastel, barely there colors or more of a midtone (mid on the bottom, barely there above).
Good luck!
