Hi I am a guy trying to tackle this decorating thing. I guest I've been lucky so far. I did exactly what the lady said in color 101. The paint !st I mean. I didn't know any better. "LUCK OF THE IRISH" I guess, Anyways, I am trying for a ultra modern bathroom: The floors will be Maple laminate, the cabinet is a dark brown wood, the counter will be granite tiles light tan with black in it(Giallo ST Cecilia 12" x12" tiles. The bath from door to window is 8 1/2' x 3 1/2' wall to cabinet wall to wall it is 5' the long wall 5' then the shower stall on the other side: the toilet is (white) behind the door next to the cabinet. There is a single sink off set to the right. The mirror is brushed chrome with a large frosted eagle. on the other side of the cabinet is a sealed walled area. This holds the water heater. Access is from the outside. the window has a medium dark wood mini blind. The master bath Is chocolate milkshake brown & white. Now that I have removed the florescent lights I have several problems: 1. Should I use recessed lights ?? or should I use a wall light ?? If I use the wall light I have to have install a junction box in the ceiling. It will be covered with a solid cover that can be seen. It can not be sealed up in the ceiling reason: according to code must have access. If I use recessed lights one of the lights acts as the junction box. 2. Should I use one single wall light with 4 lights or The recessed lights, If so how many?? The mirror seems too short & small to me. There is a gape of 17" from the ceiling to the mirror is that OK or should the mirror be changed or is it OK to leave it with this gap at the top?? The mirror is38 1/4" tall by 42 1/2" wide. the counter will be 4' 4"long by 2' wide, depends on the tile placement. 3. Should the sink be centered or is it OK to the side I was thinking of a vessel sink with a tall sweeping faucet 4. What type of vessel sink Black granite gray granite white china, Glass what color?? 5. what color should I paint?? I was thinking horizontal stripes of chocolate milkshake brown up 5' then 2'' of white then 6'' of dark blue then 2'' of white then two shades lighter brown for the rest of the wall to the ceiling. Would this work & should one wall be done like this or all of them or none??? Well that is it . I hope you will be able to help me. I guess this is most likely too much information, however, I am attempting to draw you a word picture of the bathroom. Thank You 4ksqd

Hi there,
Can you post a picture, so we can visualize the situation?
In order to set an image here follow these easy steps-->
1 - upload your picture to a free online photoalbum like Photobucket or Flickr , for example
2 - Look for the link of your picture (usually, photoalbums provide a "link for a forum" script) --> copy the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located),
3 - In the DIY Forum--> Reply post or open a new post--> Press the 'Insert Image' icon above and paste the link--> or type after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image
