Colors for a small kitchen
Hi everyone
I'm building a small Southwestern cottage..AKA Casita.
The kitchen is only about 70sq feet. Nice U shaped counter space though. My question is...Which shade combo would make it appear larger...Dark counter top with light base cabinets?..OR
Light counter top with darker base?
Thanks from Whitefeather

Depends of the color of the walls, windows, etc
Can you post a picture
In order to set an image here follow these easy steps-->
1 - upload your picture to a free online photoalbum like Photobucket or Flickr , for example
2 - Look for the link of your picture (usually, photoalbums provide a "link for a forum" script) --> copy the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located),
3 - In the DIY Forum--> Reply post or open a new post--> Press the 'Insert Image' icon above and paste the link--> or type after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image

I would go with the lighter base and the darker counter top, but mostly my personal opinion. I think making the cabinets standout will enhance the look of the kitchen making it look brighter and bigger. But I would post a pic if possible, it would help make a better educated answer.

Hi Whitefeather,
I would go with a dark counter top with light base cabinets. To me it seems the light cabinets would create the illusion of more space whereas having a darker cabinet may make your kitchen seem closed in.
