plaster wall how to hang?

I've tried putting nails and thumb tacks in the walls, bent under 30 seconds every time. I'm in a rental and would love fabric work all over the place just cant find the right adhesive to put on the wall that can hold fabric. any idea gravity is a killer, i cant fill my walls fast enough with pictures. its taking to long and my fabric is plentiful. so what kind of tape or something can i use?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Actually, you need to staple it. Hope you have an air stapler to make the job easier. You should staple batting first, then fabric over that.
You'll want to leave a little space (1/2") from the edges because you'll need to cover the staples. You can use gimp or double welt, which can be glued on with a hot glue gun.

If you were in one of my units, there's a chance you'd see a charge for repairing the holes in the wall when you leave, as it sounds like there will be a lot of them.

Just for you to consider.
