BARN DOOR question

I'm new at this so be patient with me even if I have zero patience. I want to install barn doors. Problem: opening for double doors is 81 inches. Walls to each side of the opening are not equal in size. One wall measures 42 inches and one is 40 inches. One door is gonna have to be bigger than the other and is this weird?

Welcome to the forums! We thrive on weird. What type barn doors are you looking to install? Just plain old cross buck barn doors? Is this in a house? Do these doors open out ward or are you looking to install sliding doors on a track system? If you are using a track system, you won't notice the odd inch on one door. Really you can make both doors the same size. They both will open to their stop. Just one will sit inside the opening by one inch or so. Fill us in with gobs of information and even some pictures if you care to. It always helps us to see "weird" so we can help. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html
