Angry stained railing

I am trying to "lighten" all the very dark stained wood in my house - I have a large railing in my living room - I have started sanding off the stain - it works but is a very slow process - anything that may help give it a quick start to get the job done before 2006?

Changing stain color of wood

Changing stain color of wood will require sanding down to raw wood so that you can restain or seal the wood with a natural color.

2006

It's nice to know somebody else will finishing sanding and staining the same year as me! I'm stripping, sanding, sanding and glazing an old kitchen. The original cabinetry is in terrific shape and fits perfectly in this 1927 house. I will have spent more money doing this....then if I just let a designer "in" and moved to Paris for three month. Keep at it...because it has been my experience one eats less when busy after work! Good luck...and, no there is no other way.
