Question tub problems

I live in a new modular home, unfortunately when I bought the place, I bought it as a lot model, therefor was unable to change ANYTHING in the place. My master bath has one of those garden tubs in it with a shower stall enclosure right next to it. I want the garden tub OUT!I don't use it and what a waste of space and water. the tub does not have any jets in it its just a big piece of hard plastic taking up a big corner of my bathroom. the only thing it has been good for is a shoe rack, I have been throwing all my shoes in there. HELP!!!!! I really want it out!!! any ideas??

tub problems

Jenni112371,

I would consult a plumber to remove and cap lines if you want it out. Remocal would be done by cutting it out with a sawzall and removing it in pcs.

You may even want a carpenter to come in and do the work it you are wanting to add something in it's place.

Good Luck!

Cool

Well, you can remove it, but unless you have another tub, you might devalue your home.
You can cut and cap off the plumbing (both water supply lines and the drain), rent a reciprocating saw, cut the tub up, pull it out, and remodel the area, if you want.
Your call.
Good Luck!

Thumbs up you guys are the best!

I have actually thought of taking th sawzall and doing it myself, I have another bathroom in the house with a tub/shower I was just thinking on pulling it up and putting I don't know, say maybe another sink there in that spot, kinda like a his and her sink and then just just putting tile down {I'm right now in the progress of ripping the carpeting up from outta there}whoever though of carpeting a WHOLE bathroom should have there head looked at, especially around the shower enclosure and around the toilet.
