Unhappy Shower tile refinishing???

I was wondering if anyone had any information about how to paint ceramic tiles in a shower??? My mom's shower is the ugly "70's gold". We were wondering if there is a way to paint the tiles a new color rather than riping them all out and starting over??? Any information would be appreciated! Thanks!

Andy, I do not think paint will adhere for very long.

You might see if there are any companies in your area who re-surface ceramic tubs/showers. Most also do tile walls. I had my tub resurfaced, and although I would not re-do a tub again, I think walls would be okay.

Thanks for your suggestions! I think we might try that stuff from Lowes. It can't be harder than redoing the whole shower! LOL! Thanks again for the information.
