Removing tracks left from glass tub doors
Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a home in which the previous owners had removed the glass doors from the tub enclosure but left the metal tracks in place. Can someone please tell me if it's possible to remove these without damaging the tub? I'm not even sure how the tracks are attached to the tub and walls. Thanks!

Most likely, the side channels are screwed to the wall or enclosure. The side panels rest on the bottom channel and hold it in place. The bottom channel will have a bead of caulk holding it to the tub. The screws holding the side channels may be disguised as rubber bumpers. Hope this helps.

If you have a cast iron tub, use a razor-blade scraper on the caulking. On fiberglass you will need to be real careful not to damage the finish. If the caulking is real hard, try a blow dryer to soften it up, then a putty knife. Let me know how it turns out.
