HELP,,,texture ceiling above shower,,,HELP

the textured ceiling above the shower is coming down.
i scraped the "bad" area and started to repaint/texture the area.
the bad area is now twice as big as when i started and keeps getting bigger with every roll of the roller.
what can i do to stop this????????????????????

I assume we are talking about a popcorn ceiling (blown textured)?
If so, the painting of this is not a good thing with a roller since the moisture just loosens up the texture. Normally this would be painted by a sprayer to avoid the problems you are encountering.
I would scrape it off to a nice straight line at the edge of the shower enclosure and apply a skim coat of joint compound and sand smooth and then prime and paint. I know this sounds like work but usually painting a latex applied texture is asking for trouble with a roller or even a brush. Plaster textured ceilings are easy.

It's somewhat unusual to have a popcorn ceiling in the bathroom....oh well.
Moisture condensation is a probable cause, due to poor venting in your bathroom.
Do you have a bathroom vent fan installed?? If so, check the functionality of it and contemplate to upgrade it with a larger capacity(higher CFM).
If not, you should consider putting one in.
