Removing Cast Iron Tub

Removing Cast Iron Tub
I am planning to redo the bath and discovered some water damage in a corner next to the bathtub-- I believe I will have to replace some sub flooring in the process of this project. It's looking as though I will have to remove and replace the bathtub. It's a kohler cast iron model from about 1969. Is it really feasible to put a blanket over it and break it up with a sledgehammer? How much effort does this require?

wlfetter,
Nothing a couple of beers won't take care of. It does work and works great! It only takes about 5 minutes with some good blows from a sledge! Don't use a torch!
The use of the blanket will deaden the sound and keep things from flying all over. Wear goggles, leather gloves and a long sleeve shirt.
Good Luck on your project!
