Hi,
I just bought a 3 family home in Mass. One of the bathrooms has 4x4 tile in the shower/tub.In the corner the vertical joint has mildew, wich the tennat says she can't remove? Its in the grout.
I may need to remove and replace this grout. Can you give me steps for removing the old grout, and how to replace the new grout.I have never done grout work before? Thanks

Drummel with a masonry bit will do a good job. Start from the middle of a grout and work your way toward edges.
If you don't have one and are not in the mood to purchase one, you can use a grout saw to cut it out; more work, of course.
You don't have to remove ALL grout, althoug it's recommended.
Too much work.....just remove as much as you can and re-grout.
This time, be sure to seal it well with a mildew-resistant sealer....2 coats minimum.
