Ceramic Tile in Bath

Looking at installing ceramic tile in my bathroom. What are the requirements for proper installation of ceramic? Currently, from what I can see without making a big problem, I have linoleum over some underlayment over subflooring. How much needs to be removed and what is nneded under the ceramic??? Thanks for the help!!!!

The vinyl and the underlayment have to come out. A vapor barrier needs to go down. The you will be putting down either 1/4" Hardi Backer or 1/2" Dura Rock, depending on how thick the underlayment you removed is and the thickness of the tile you are going to be installing. Install that with screws, and seal the joints. Once the joints have cured, you are ready to begin tiling.
