glass block in a shower

this is something i plan on doing in an upcoming renovation.......the shower stall will be 3" X 6' three walls will be tiled and the wall into the bathroom will be part glass block and the door which will be a hindged type..l how is the block anchored to the wall and how do you attach door hardware to the block

Attaching a shower door assembly to a glass block unit is not feasible without installing some type of metal jamb that would be sturdy enough to handle thw weight. Of course, this depends on the door width. I have seen shower doors attached to glass block by attaching anhors to the glass block mortar joints areas only. Unfortunately on shower door assemblies, the holes are already pre-drilled as to where the anchors would be placed. You could alter location and get plastic plugs to cover these holes.
