Wall board

I'm re-doing my bathroom and I'm down to the studs. Does it matter if I use 1/4 or 1/2 inch for my walls? (Greenboard/hardibacker/wallboard)

Thank you

Use 1/2" durock or hardibacker for anything inside a shower or tub shower area that is going to get tiled. 1/2" regular for everything else. No green board. No 1/4" anything. Make sure you do a good paint job with some bath/moisture resistant paint.

Do I need hardibacker behind the sink or is drywall enough?
