installing beadboard in bathroom.....advice needed

we will be using the 4x8 sheets and have found them in birch plywood and a hardboard material that has a white coating (primer i suppose). both are "ready to paint" and that is what we are going to do. my concern is the hardboard material getting moisture in it and bubbling up...it is however rated for basement use. the birch i have to be concerned with swelling.
we will be applying a semi gloss bathroom paint to which ever we use.
anyone used either of these in this type of application?

thanks for the advice in advance.

I'd have to vote against using any sort of laminate product for bathroom wall covering. Moisture is going to adversely effect either of the materials you're talking about. Just my $.02 worth.
