Whirlpool tub surround

Hi everybody!

http://www.gulfcoastriders.com/membe...s/cimg0018.jpg

I'll be installing the tub at the url above. I'm trying to decide what to use as the surround.

Here are my thoughts on options..
Use the factory made plastic surround (easiest)

Frame up and put tile with maybe a border that i can continue on to the walls. Possibly making the front a curve. I've never done tile before, so I'd need to buy some scraps and a piece of durock and practice first.

Buy some cabinet panels that match the existing cabinets and attach them to a framing. This would mean no curved front framing as in the tiling option.

In any case, access must be provided for the pump and heater. This would be easiest using either the factory surround or the cabinet panels.

What do you think?

Pendragon,

I'd go with either the fiberglass or tile option, just not a good place for wood IMO.

There are factory made access panels available if you decide to go with tile. BTW- Maybe I'm just tired, but that tub isn't sitting where it goes is it?
